Location Date/Time Conditions
Swami's 04/29/01
9:00 am - 11:00 am
1 - 3' Super clean this morning with zero wind. Some pulses out of the west slowly peeling across kiddie bowl. A few would jack up here and there. Small crowd and basically surfed the inside with one long boarder. Some nice little round house waves with a little speed section closing out inside.

9:00 am - 11:00 am
2 - 3' Wind swell running with a tad of southern hemi. After checking the jetty, which had lousy form, I decided to head down to the Cliffs. Not too many people out and looking all right. Get down to Nubes and realize its soft as hell and only sets. Struggled tyring to get some good ones, which were far and few with a hungry pack fighting over them. Frustrating when the good ones throw a mean barrel and then you get one and it barely holds up and then crumbles along the reef. Managed to sneak a couple decent ones through the inside but luck was a key factor in the shifty and mushy conditions.

8:00 am - 10:30 am
1 - 3' Wind on it early. I was praying that it would do a mid morning glass off. No hope in that, but the low tide turning around opened a little window at middle peak were I pretty much surfed this punchy little left all to myself for about an hour until some groms figured out that I was getting some waves and came and joined me. Pretty fun and a lot better than I thought it would be.

5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
2 - 4' southern hemi swell that was a little bigger and more consistent the last round of weak pulses. The only problem was that there was complete crap wind swell mixed in making the conditions real crossed and closed out basically. After figuring out the shifty line up, managed to catch a couple freight train lefts.

7:30 am - 9:30 am
2 - 3' + Wind swell and a little bit of southern hemi pulse keeping things surfable. Offshores helping the wind swell organize a bit but it was pretty soft overall with a few lining up through the inside. Highly uninspiring.

5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
2 - 3' + Still very inconsistent Southern hemi still hanging in there. Looked like there was barely a breath of air all day and of course the minute I get off work this hideous little low pressure cell moves through blowing it to pieces. Really had to be on top of the game today with a large crowd and peaks popping up erratically everywhere. Took me about an hour to get into the groove and figure where to site wide to get some decent sandbar lefts. Caught a handful of quick walls that had a little bit of face to them. Caught a good one in so not a total write off.

5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
2 - 3' + A very small ovrehyped southern hemi running. Must have seen one of the better sets of the day while checking it because it was super inconsistent. Wind had been on it all day also increasing the fun. Even with these dim prospects, I managed to sneak a few through the inside and a couple of sets, but overall it was a borderline bust session. Too crowded for the conditions - the price we are starting to pay for information at the tip fo our fingers now.

6:00 am - 7:30 am
2 - 3' More wind swell junk from this string of very hideous unseasonable weather we have been having. Anyhow, super low tide helping the far corner of kiddie bowl out a bit with some peaky little bowls with a few faces to work with. Pretty uninspiring, but better than nothing.

8:00 am - 10:00 am
1 - 3' Left over junk wind swell. Glassy but that was about the only thing going for it. A few good insiders if you picked right. Good to see the Morganroth out there.
