Location Date/Time Conditions
Swami's 04/30/03
6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3' Wind swell and a tiny southern hemi running. Southern hemi waves the ones dishing the goods through the inside. Small swing sets lining up and whackable - just had to be patient to wait for the right ones. Fun.
Crystal Pier - Chelcedony St. 04/28/03
6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' Weak. What started out as some good little sections quickly deteriorated into small unsurfable mush. Caught one really good wave in two hours. Poor.

6:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' some 3' Carbon copy of yesterday but less wind swell influence. Still able to nab some zippy waves way inside. The minute the tide turned it shut down. Lots of waves though a bit crowded for the conditions, but fun nonetheless.

6:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' some 3' Small and clean little west southwest ground swell mixed with a bit of wind swell. Although really small pretty rippable on the far inside with the tidal push. Lots of roundies but the occasional wave lining up for some good whacks. Hardly anybody out. Tide turned and immediately softened it up but fun while it lasted.

2 - 3' some + Small, clean and very very inconsistent out of the south west. With the tide dropping the jetty was a pretty good option seeing that the bar is in form. Nice bounce wedges off the jetty lining up for some smacks and some tubes. Got a nice double pit on a set wave. Not too crowded at first but then the hordes arrived. Still pretty fun even with the crowd. Water still really putrid from the rains. Surprised I haven't got sick from there yet this year.

6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' some + Small southern hemi with a tad of lingering wind swell. Pretty small but some sets pushing through the corner with no one on it. Small little lined up waves. Some zippy and good for a couple whacks but pretty soft over all. Better than the complete junk we have had lately. OK.

6:00 am - 9:00 am
2 - 4' After two days of 30 mph winds the surf was still hurting this morning. Junky, warbly, sectiony, and mushy. A little bit of size but it really didn't matter. Too bad because underneath all the crap was some remnant southern hemi swell. Surfed all over the reef today trying to get some good ones. I only nabbed two really good ones from almost three hour session. The first one was a sick double up wedge off the peak that pitted me and the second was my last wave in on the inside corner that lined up beautifully for some good whacks and carves. Always good to end on a high note. Hopefully it will clean up more tomorrow.

6:30 am - 9:30 am
1 - 2' some 3' Left over wind swell from the passing front. Looked somewhat good from above but the reality was much worse. Slow, mushy, and sectiony. Stayed out for what seemed like for ever to get a good count of decent waves. Riding my new 6'2" again and getting acclamaited to it in small crappy surf. Helped a bit but condidtions were tough no matter what you rode. Poor.

7:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3' Remnant southern hemi questionably surfable. Some sets just giving it enough to paddle out. Cold. South east wind, clouds and threatening rain, plus with water temps in the low 50's, it really was the first time in a long while I was actually chattering. Sat on the corner and waited for the very inconsistent sets that were lining up. Rode my new 6'2" and it feels like this board is going to be really fun. Mediocore.

6:30 am - 9:30 am
2 - 3' some + Nice clean little southern hemi mixed with some wind swell from the previous storm. Nice and sunny with no wind. Pretty consistent at first but pretty sectiony. As the tide filled in it got much cleaner and the inside really got whackable although the consistency started dropping off. Just a few of use surfing the inside. Pretty fun.
Swami's 04/12/03
7:00 am - 9:30 am
1 - 3' Small west south west with clean conditions. Looking a bit mushball on the high but no where else breaking. Decided to hit it up, even though there was a thick crowd on it. Glad I did with the far inside really rippable once the tide shifted, while everyone else was trying to scab the peak. Pretty fun.

7:00 am - 9:30 am
2 - 3' some + Left over southern hemi barely hanging on. Some sets at the jetty even on the high tide. Just two other guys and some rippable small peaks. Tide started shifting out quick and started to kill it while 5, yes count 'em, 5 guys who were all buddies paddled out. No respect. Not too bad while it lasted.

7:00 am - 9:30 am
2 - 3' some + Pretty much just left over wind swell and some southern hemi. Not very pretty or good. A few pockets on the inside but pretty mushy overall until the tide started to push then it got a bit more lined up but much more inconsistent. OK.

7:00 am - 9:30 am
2 - 3' More wind slop after heavy afternoon onshores yesterday. Everywhere looking really anemic except for Nubes. Just a couple guys out when I paddled out and then they went in. Had it with one other guy for awhile. Pretty mixed up and mushy but a few waves were coming together nicely offering up some tubes, speed runs, and the some lips to hit. Couple more guys paddled out and then the wind really came up out of the north. Plenty of slop to go around though with the wind looking like it was pushing the swell in more consistently. Pretty fun considering conditions.

6:00 am - 9:30 am
2 - 3' some 4'Looking like a repeat of Friday but fortunately as the tide came in and the wind settled there were some half way decent waves to be had mid peak offering up some hittable face. Caught a couple double ups that wound all the way through. Fun but nothing great.

6:00 am - 8:30 am
2 - 3' some 4' A slight respite in the hideous onshores we had all week that destroyed a solid south swell. It was actually blowing offshore this morning but the waves were pretty weak and guess what, wind swelly. Kind of just flopping over the reef. A few corners to be had at first on the low but as the tide moved in only the peak was breaking and half assed at that and then the wind turned sideshore blowing it out. A few remnant southern hemi lumps dishing up some whackable face but these were far and few. Poor.
