1 - 3' Inconsistent south pulse and onshore to boot. Not much on the negative low but as the tide turned and started pushing there were some tasty little lines creasing across the inside ledge. Nothing great but kind of fun. |
| Black's | 04/28/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 4' some 5' Much more swell today with a pulse of southern hemi with some west wind swell. Right pretty good and peaky with some good face to crack. A couple decent lefts not as solid as the rights with weaker faces but still good fro a couple of backside whacks. Rights were pretty juicy early but as the tide filled in became a bit softer. Pretty fun. |
| Black's | 04/27/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 3' some + some small south swell in the water with a bit of wind swell. Low tide but still a it soft. Some lefts lining up off of middle peak but a majority of the better waves rights. Tide started moving in and really slowed it down but it was OK. |
| Reed St. | 04/24/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
1 - 2' some + Cleaned up over night but wind swell had dried up pretty much. Just weak leftovers. A few little lefts to slap but overall close to flat on the rising tide. Poor. |
| Newbreak | 04/18/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
1 - 3' some + Scrappy wind swell after a front had moved through. Beautiful morning and tide perfect with it dropping; it was just too bad the swell wasn't cooperating. Sectiony and weak with a few rare ones lining up nicely. Better than nothing but not so hot. |
| Swami's | 04/14/06 6:30 am - 8:30 am |
2 - 3' some + Wind swell really faded overnight. A new small pulse of south giving a little inconsistent life to the peak as the tide started filling in. Tide really started marching in around 7:30 and the inside corner magically came alive with me and just a few heads on it. Just perfect waist to shoulder high waves dying to be hit. Super fun. |
| Swami's | 04/13/06 5:00 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 3' some 5'+ Lots of wind swell in the water. Pretty north but enough energy to wrap in. South had faded but giving some cross to the swell. Full moon again but tide super drained. Didn't look so hot in the moonlight but there were guys out so decided to head on out. Looks can be deceiving in the half light. Not super consistent but some head high sets plowing through. Surfed the peak early and then as the tide finally filled in some good ones through mid peak and a few on the corner, although today wasn't a banner corner day. Crowd got pretty damn thick by 7 so headed in. Fun again. |
| Swami's | 04/12/06 5:00 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 3' some 4'+ South still hanging in there. Full moon was allowing for an early session. A bit inconsistent on the drained tide but once the tide started moving the corner came alive for some nice clean wedges. Had it with a few guys on the corner and then they went in and once again I had a flurry of activity on the corner for about a half an hour all to myself. Fun stuff. |
| OB Jetty | 04/11/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 4' some + North west wind swell pretty much faded. A new southern pulse on the rise. Inconsistent but the jetty doing the bounce on the sets creating some very fast but rippable waves. Crowd light but barely enough to go around when the sets were rolling through with all the smaller waves just dumping on the bar. Fun until the high tide shut it down. Running back to the car the lefts off Avalanche looked really fun. |
| Swami's | 04/10/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 4' some + Not as big as the day before but still plenty fun. Tide was filling in fast and the corner started doing some nice double ups on the inside. Once again had it to myself for much of the morning while everyone battled on the peak. Fun. |
| Swami's | 04/09/06 6:00 am - 10:00 am |
2 - 4' some 5'+ Some wind swell filled in overnight and the southern hemi had ratcheted up a notch also. Super fun wedge peaks. About as fun as Swami's can get a dawn. Lined up and super rippable from the peak all the way through the stairs. Tide filled in and peaked around 8 and slowed it down for about a half an hour. Tide turned and the waves just kept on coming. Kept on saying to myself, "one more, one more," but found myself paddling out again and again. Finally the crowd got to silly levels around 9:30 and caught a couple more to go in. Really fun. |
| Swami's | 04/06/06 8:00 am - 10:30 am |
1 - 3' Super clean this morning with sunny conditions. A smattering of long period south west keeping it surfable but inconsistent enough that no one really knew there were waves. Some beautifully lined up waves out of the south hitting the corner and peeling flawlessly through for full on speed runs. Pretty much had it to myself for about an hour and then a few people paddled out to join me on the corner while the peak was packed out with long boards. Tide filled in a bit more and wind was starting to pick up but by then I had had my fill. Fun. |
| Swami's | 04/07/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 4' Cleaned up overnight and the southern hemi a bit more predominate. Some fun waves off the corner although a bit soft but lining up for lots of roundies and a few lips. Fun. |
| Swami's | 04/06/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
3 - 4' some 6' Front passed through and kicked up a pretty good sized wind swell. Some southern hemi in the water too and the waves with the combination swell seemed to be the best. A bit sloppy and chunky but only a few guys out and I pretty much had the corner to myself as the other guys tried to get some clean ones off the peak. Corner seemed to have a bit more line so scored a few good ones, took a few on the head, and generally had a good time. |
| Swami's | 04/04/06 5:30 am - 7:00 am |
2 - 4' some 5' Southern hemi coming to a peak. Paddled out in the dark and was, of course, this being Swami's, not alone. Some inconsistent sets hitting the peak outside but as it got lighter I shifted to the corner where, although a tad soft in spots, the waves were lining up quite nicely for multiple cutties. Some solid sets about every 15 to 20 minutes plowing through and swinging really wide. Managed to catch one of these screamers in. Fun. |
| OB Jetty | 04/03/06 6:00 am - 7:30 am |
1 - 4' North swell evaporated overnight leaving a new but very inconsistent southern hemi. Another negative tide this morning so was hoping the jetty bar would be good. A few good set waves refracting and lining up off the jetty for full freight train runs but everything else was just not feeling the bar and dumping fast. Lots of sand in the middle of the bay which is not the ideal bar. Luckily the crowd was small enough to spread the wealth of the few sets that were plowing few every no and then. Beautiful conditions - just wish the swell was pulsing harder. |
| 33s | 04/02/06 6:00 am - 9:30 am |
3 - 5'+ New north west wind swell combining with some southern hemi. There was some morning sickness from stiff north winds and a negative low tide keeping the crowds down to where me and a buddy surfed it by ourselves. North swell really steep with the sets sweeping pretty wide but some were hitting the reef spot on and hooking beautifully for a full run across the reef especially when the wind laid down. A pack finally arrived but we pretty much gorged ourselves by that time. Not the best I've ever seen this place but good times nonetheless. |
| Swami's | 04/01/06 7:00 am - 8:00 am |
1 - 2' Trace southern hemi in the water. Looked at a bunch of places and Swami's the only sport worth surfing. Not to many guys out on the low but really clean. Some very inconsistent sets offering up a few knee to waist high race tracks. OK. |
