Black's	08/31/01 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 3' Flossie producing extremely weak and inconsistent waves. Super clean but power was lacking. A few lined up lefts made it barely surfable. Flossie looks to be a bust for the San Diego area.
Swami's	08/29/01 6:00 am - 7:00 am	2 - 3'+ South on the downturn but a nice little west swell running almost creating real Swami's. Some really godd waves through the inside. Got my fill quick and went in before the crowd and tide killed it.
Bird Rock	08/28/01 6:00 am - 7:30 am	2 - 3'+ Real steep south had filled in but really inconsistent down here because of the 170 angle. A few pushing through but the inconsitency and mushiness of the waves were a drag. Caught a nice one that allowed me to do a full rail roundhouse rebound and that was the hghlight. Windansea was apparently good but ultra packed.
Swami's	08/27/01 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 3'+ Real steep south starting to show with a little wind swell mixed in. Some real slow clean waves coming in with some steep lines every once in awhile that were making the seesion worthy. Caught one chest high peeler all the way through that was extremely rippable.
Black's	08/26/01 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm	2 - 4'+ A surprise as the real steep north swell that was hitting central and northern Cal was creeping into San Diego and Black's was really sucking it up. Also signs of a new south. Solid walls on the verge of closing out. Pick and choose as the tide was really pushing in making more closeouts. At first their were decent rights off south peak and then deeper into south peak were decent lefts. Most were race the section then flatten out but fun nonetheless. The really trippy thing was that the swell was so north guys were surfing an inconsistent peak in the bay which rarely breaks.
Swami's	08/25/01 7:00 am - 9:00 am	2 - 3'+ A bit more punch from the north west today creating some fun carvable peaks on the inside. A little south mixed in too to help things out.
Black's	08/24/01 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 3'+ A dribbly north west swell running. Took me a while to figure out that north peak was the place to be while I surfed pretty crappy middle peak. Moved on up to north peak and caught a few good rights but it was really lacking consistency and power. Super clean conditions however.
Ponto	08/19/01 10:00 am - 11:30 am	1 - 2'+ Small and peaky little waves up and down the beach. Took my buddy Chris out to get some long needed water time. Little peaks were holding up pretty good all the way through with wackable face. The tide started dropping and basically shut it off.
Blacks	08/18/01 7:00 am - 9:00 am	1 - 2'+ Small but surfable wind swell waves. A few short lefts and the odd long right lining up. Lots of mush with the highish tide. Super clean and glassy from the hot humid weather we have been experiencing. Managed to nab a really nice right in.
Scripps	08/15/01 6:00 am - 7:00 am	1 - 2' Hoping for a repeat of yesterday but alas, it was not to happen. Swell had really dropped but looked pretty clean and surfable but it was all an illusion. It was real weak and mushy. Was lucky to get a good left in. Terrible.
Scripps	08/14/01 6:00 am - 8:00 am	2 - 4' Super junky wind swell pushing through creating some wild peaks and a lot of paddling and duck diving. Super consistent and no one out. It was hunting time and there were some half way surfable lefts with a bit of face and racey sections if you could have the patience to wait for the right one and not paddle all over the place chasing the peak. Got progressively more closed out as the tide dropped and barely scraped one in.
Uppers	08/12/01 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm	1 - 2' Possibly the worst Trestles I have ever surfed. The swell completely dried up and all there was weak little high tide peaks that were borderline surfable. Nice and glassy though. Close to terrible but there was the odd set making it seem all worth while.
Blacks	08/11/01 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm	2 - 3' A lot better today even with a wind on it. South swell smaller but a perfect blend of wind swell and south were creating some nice left peaks on the high tide. Nothing epic but pretty surfable and fun for a change.
Black's	08/10/01 6:00 am - 8:00 am	2 - 4' South still showing but really inconsistent. Lots of wind swell back in the water making for pretty crappy form, plus there was a north wind on it. Not a lot of lined up waves but a bunch of fast closeouts. If you we're lucky you could luck into a decent left.
Swami's	08/09/01 7:00 am - 8:00 am	2 - 4' New south swell showing inconsistently. Some fast slopey walls swinging real wide and hitting kiddy bowl. Direction not the best, hence the kind of slopey, sectiony walls, but it was clean with the wind swell finally backing off a bit. Caught some racey walls with a couple showing some face to hit and even a few tubes over the fingers way inside. A little more west in the swell and it would have been pretty good.
Newbreak	08/08/01 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 2'+ Trace amounts of south swell and north west wind swell. Very inconsistent but a few double ups to be had on the inside. The best thing was there wasn't a soul around for about an hour until some random came and joined me but by then the tide shifted and I struggled to get one in and left him to his own devices.
Swami's	08/05/01 8:30 am - 10:00 am	1 - 3'+ Mixture of inconsistent south and some scrappy winds well creating little peaks across the reef. Outside kind of sectioning off, so the inside was the call, especially with the tide moving in. A few fun insiders with a bit of face but once the tide started filling in it really began to slow down. Pretty mediocore.
Black's	08/04/01 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm	2 - 3'+ Swell slowy trickling in. Sets every ten minutes or so making for long waits. Waited for the afternoon glass off at Blacks and was rewarded with a semi textured surface but the sand bars have had it down here. No form whatsoever with the lines closing out up and down the beach. Caught a handful of waves in two hours and not very good ones at that with little to no face to work with. Some sets had size, but so what when they are just closing out?
Black's	08/03/01 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 2' No sign of new south swell yet. Just trace, barely surfable lines pushing through with the odd left popping up with weak faces. North wind not helping either. Pretty weak.
