Newbreak	02/26/02 10:00 am - 12:00 pm	2 - 4' some + A reunion of sorts. Have avoided this place all winter and opted to surf Swamis quite a bit this past year for reasons that have a lot to do with convenience, quality at any tide, and vibe. Anyhow, paddled out on the high dropping quick with one guy out (can never get this place to myself). Some fun ones out of the south west hitting the inside on the higher tide for some roundies and a few hitties. As the tide dropped got much better with it lining up pretty good and getting extremely whackable. Caught a set and got tubed for seconds on end, which just blew my mind. After that everything else was gravy. Caught some more fun ones and went in with a smile on my face. Beautiful day also with hot temperatures after the fog burned off.
Swami's	02/24/02 8:00 am - 11:00 am	2 - 4' Left over wind swell with a touch of groundswell but not all that hot. A few nice lined up ones that had some face around mid peak on the higher tide but definitely a pick and choose day. A few were cornering on the inside but mushing quickly. With the tide dropping it really started to dribble and the crowd became unbearable.
Swami's	02/21/02 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 3'+ Another day that I asked myself, "What am I doing out here?" Pretty dribbly although the buoys had bumped up a bit over night. There was one wave that made the session. It was the only one I saw that lined up for a few solid whacks in a sea of dribble. Using my noggin for once I went in.
Swami's	02/19/02 6:00 am - 7:30 am	1 - 3' Looked at it yesterday morning and it was on shore junk. Of course by 9:00 it was pretty surfable and coming up. Anyhow, hoping for some decent size like yesterday but it was just dribble this morning. Thought I saw some good sets push through looking down from the parking lot but it must of been the last one of the day because it faded fast and was barely surfable. To compound my misery my ankle was stiff and sore and it was about 40 degrees with a stiff offshore. Ah well, maybe next time.
Alisitos (K-58)	02/16/02 8:30 am - 10:00 am	2 - 4' On the way down Friday evening it looked as if some of the south swell spots had a wave cooking on them from the lingering south. By Saturday morning, however, the south had dried up leaving lingering north west ground swell. This place sucks up swell like no other on the coast. It could be flat for miles around and this place would have a wave. Unfortunately the sand bars were not in good form at all. Basically no sand. Real walled out with a few left corners by the hotel. Scoped the early morning for the window on the left and headed out and the wind immediately blew up junking the already addled waves. Still managed to get a few rippable lefts but it was kind of a disappointment after having a really good session here over the summer so was expecting more.
Swami's	02/15/02 6:00 am - 7:30 am	2 - 3'+ Some pretty fun waves this morning with a mix from the south and the north west with the south being cleaner and better. Some pretty fun workable waves when they came through. Ended up sitting on the corner after a failed attempt at surfing the peak. Some nice sets swinging wide and bowling nicely. Got a real nice cover up on one and many solid whacks through the inside. Not too shabby.
Swami's	02/12/02 6:00 am - 7:00 am	2 - 3' Really dropped and slopped up over night. A few mushy lines coming through and a few choice ones on the deep inside corner. Pretty much a disappointment after yesterday.
Swami's	02/11/02 6:30 am - 8:00 am	3 - 4'+ So clean this morning and with a new swell straight out of the west and sheet glass conditions Swami's didn't have a drop of water out of place. Really fun and rippable. Very good. With more high pressure it looked to be an all time day with the tide dropping.
Black's	02/10/02 9:30 am - 12:00 pm	1 - 3'+ Swell really faded but had cleaned up to razor sharpness. Tide was dropping fast and the lefts started to come on off of south peak. Some fun smackable waves a tad on the mushy side but pretty fun. Not too crowded at first but it soon became extremely zooed. Total kookville. Too bad because it was an beautiful day for surfing for a few more hours.
Swami's	02/09/02 8:30 am - 11:00 am	2 - 4' Swell had really dropped over night but it had cleaned up a bit. Size was still holding a bit but was fading fast. Went out after high tide and it was a bit better on the higher tide with it connecting better. Once the tide started dropping out the corners were flatting out a bit and then a really stiff offshore breeze kicked in making for some beautiful freak waves every once in awhile. Overall plenty of fun round housy waves. If only it had more size with the offshore...
Swami's	02/08/02 6:30 am - 8:00 am	3 - 4'+ Not too bad today. A little wind swell mixed in with the north west ground swell but overall the high tide smoothing things out. Some pretty good waves busting mid peak with some juice and very carvable faces lining up all the way through. Also a few bowls throwing. Pretty fun.
Blacks's	02/05/02 6:30 am - 8:00 am	2 - 3'+ Really cold again this morning. Ice on the car that didn't even melt on the drive over to Black's. Cold temps not helping my stiff right ankle this morning so was feeling not so loose and little out of sync in the mostly wind swell surf this morning. A few solid sets out of the north that were more grounded but no clearly definable peak had everyone guessing the best line up spot. Still, there were some whackable lefts pushing through for a few hitties after the drop before they faded or closed out. Caught a couple good ones that made the walk worth while.
Black's	02/02/02 8:00 am - 10:00 am	2 - 3' A very small blip of swell running out of the North at 300 degrees. Super clean conditions with barely a ruffle of swell in 3 days so was figuring Black's would be small and clean. Was not disappointed. Very carvable and bowly lefts off of south peak. Not a hell of a lot of consistency but worth the walk seeing that everywhere else was micro. An older woman was out just ripping it up. Couldn't ID her so had no idea who she was but was very smooth.
