7:30 am - 10:00 am
1 - 3' some+ Have been jonesing for something anywhere near ridable so headed up to Trestles again. A negative tide at 3:00 a.m. was starting to fill in but it looked better with less tide when I first arrived. Small tropical swell and minor southern hemi running. Overall pretty weak and gutless but there were a few decent lined up ones to be had but overall weak and sectiony and of course, nice and packed. Have definitely seen this place better.

6:30 am - 8:30 am
1' Looked like the swell had picked up overnight but it was just an illusion. Saw a few good sets push through before going out. Paddled out and it was small, weak, and inconsistent. Eddy wind came up right after and it became unsurfable. Terrible.

6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' Very small and inconsistent southern hemi running. Water real warm here and super glassy. Just a couple heads out at the jetty but some smackable little sets coming through about every ten minutes or so with the tidal push. Caught three pretty good waves which is better than nothing. OK.
Scripp's 07/26/04
6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' Another day of wretched surf. Wind swell slop in the water with the tiniest smidgen of southern hemi which was almost undetectable. 2-4 second intervals on some of this pooh. A few short lefts and the odd dumpy right. Up welling has cooled the water down into the mid sixties also. Poor.

6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2'+ Clean but pretty small. Lingering southern hemi providing the only really ridable surf. Just a few heads out so that was nice. As the tide peaked low a few wedges bounced off the jetty and I scored a nice barrel. A few more decent waves after that and then it shut down as the tide filled in. OK.
Swami's 07/21/04
6:30 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3' Even more wind swell in the water today than yesterday but it being so short period really no power behind it. The odd southern hemi bump mixing in on the corner creating the most surfable waves but you had to be patient. Caught a few gems but overall pretty weak.

5:30 am - 7:00 am
2 - 3' some 4' Even more wind swell in the water today. Jetty not liking the wind swell muck. Southern hemi super inconsistent. Tide really low so the wind swell was ruining the line on the bar. Still managed a few good ones with some face to crack but a majority of the waves were some real dumpy close outs. Can't figure out if the bar has gone or if it was just the wind swell mix. OK.

7:00 am - 9:00 am
2 - 4' some 5' Swell fully filled in but not a consistent swell with about 15-20 minute waits between sets. Plus, quite a bit of short period wind slop in the water kind of mucking it up. Some good waves off the corner once the tide filled in enough. Had it to myself again for awhile but then the hordes arrived. Still managed to get some good ones but the corner was shutting down with the tide rising while the peak was starting to look a bit better. Caught a couple of decent ones out there and ended up waiting forever to get one in off the corner. A 6 wave set finally obliged and caught a decent one in. Kind of fun but nothing great.

7:00 am - 9:00 am
1 - 3' New southern hemi showing. Was still really long intervals but had a lot of west in it so Swami's picking it up well. Super inconsistent but when the sets came through there would be a ten wave flurry or so of some nice little rippers off the corner. Had it to myself for awhile which was a bonus. Fun.

9:00 am - 12:00 pm
2 - 3' some 4'+ Couldn't take it anymore. I had to surf some real waves. Saw that it had pulsed up over night from about 190º and decided to hit it even though it was a Saturday. Insanely packed. Had to park up towards the San Mateo campgrounds. Super hot and glassy. With the tide push there were some good waves off the top of the point at Uppers if you could nail down one. Not as packed as it could be with the crowd kind of spread out all over. Ended up surfing the outside corner were the wide sets would power through. A bit soft but some good face to work with and even got a nice cover up. Tide peaked and then turned making it sectiony but by then I had had my fill. Fun.

6:30 am - 8:00 am
1 - 2' Really small but showing some life out of the southern hemi. Super hot and glassy conditions. Caught a few really nicely lined up waves but it was pretty small and weak, especially when the tide started moving in. Supposedly a tropical swell running too, but not really seeing it. Poor.
Black's 07/15/04
6:00 am - 8:00 am
1' So small but so clean. There were actually a few waves out of the south but the minute the tide started moving in they completely dissapeared. Caught some super micro rights that were barely surfable. Terrible.

6:30 am - 7:30 am
1 - 2' Smaller than yesterday but super clean. Riding my back up 6'2" slapper while I repair my other 6'2". A few fun little rights. Took a little left and ended up grinding the sand. Fin looked OK so caught another left and did a big roundy. Next left felt pretty wild. Took a right and board was feeling super loose so checked the fins and the middle one completely ripped out the FCS plug. Kept riding it as a twinny but it was way to loose and squirrely. OK I guess.

6:30 am - 8:00 am
1 - 3' Some small but clean wind swell running. Some fun little peaks up and down the beach favoring the lefts that had a few lips to hit. Wind became a problem early with it finally blowing it out. Did a nice little dump section floater and cracked my deck under my front foot. Fun but nothing great.

6:00 am - 9:00 am
1 - 3'+ South swell barely hanging in there and still some wind swell mucking it up. Very inconsistent and a bit mushy as the tide was peaking high. Tide turned it got much better but crowd became nuclear. Still managed to get some good smackables but it seemed to be closing out through the corner more today. A few wide open tubes but had to fight for those bad boys. Got a real sickie off the corner that throated for a few seconds before dumping. I think the magic sand bar might be on it's way out. Fun but not as good as it has been.
OB Jetty 07/10/04
5:30 am - 8:30 am
2 - 3'+ South swell on the fade but some north west wind swell on the rise. Not as clean as the past few days with the wind swell cross and a heavy north wind on it early. Still there were some nice crackable waves bouncing off the jetty. Cleaned up as the tide turned to go low and got a bit more hollow. Some tubes to be had if you picked right. Crowd light early but got extremely heavy again. Fun.
OB Jetty 07/09/04
6:30 am - 10:30 am
2 - 3'+ Even a bit more size today but consistency not so hot. Sandbar in top notch form. Beautiful right hand point like waves bouncing off the jetty going all the way through with some very hollow sections. Corner also showing a bit here and there too. Extremely rippable and with the right wave selection tube time could be had easily. Stayed out for a long time to get the quota up. Fun.
OB Jetty 07/08/04
6:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3' A bit more today with the southern hemi pulsing up about another foot and a bit more consistent. Some really clean and fast waves through the jetty with a few opening up for some hits. Kind of closing out off the jetty but the corner sandbar is in primo condition right now. A one footer would spin down the line an build into a three footer all the way through. Light crowd at first becoming more packed as the morning wore on. Fun.
OB Jetty 07/07/04
6:00 am - 8:00 am
1 - 2' Super small and inconsistent south swell. Barely surfable at the jetty. Low tide had it clean even with an onshore breeze, but it was so small all you could do was pump on the fast little lines. A rare one opening up, but man it was small. I was the only one out for an hour and than about 6 guys came out for some reason. Poor.
Black's 07/02/04
7:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3' Well after suffering all week near flatness the buoys had perked up a slight bit out of the south at around .8 feet at 16 seconds. Really just enough to maybe generate a 3 foot set. Head down to Black's hoping it would pull in some of this long period energy. Inconsistent but with the tide push there were 5 to 6 wave sets every 5 to 10 minutes or so lining up not to badly through middle peak. Slight problem of a pesky west onshore breeze however. I think if it was glassy it would have been pretty rippable. Still the waves were opening up enough for a couple of whacks. Poor but better than nothing.
