| Missouri St. | 06/28/99 7:00 am - 8:30 am |
1 - 2' Small but super clean waves on the low tide. Super glassy little lefts peeling across two well formed sandbars in front of Diamond and Missouri. Was good until the tide started to fill in to much. |
| Emerald St. | 06/27/99 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm |
1 - 3' Small low tide sandbar suck making for some pretty fun and challenging small waves. Super quick drops that would either toss you on the bar or let you fly down the line and thwack away. Skinned it for the first time since last summer and it felt great, although the water wasn't all that warm. |
| Crytal Pier - Emerald St. | 06/20/99 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm |
2 - 3'+ Crossed up swell still hanging in there. A little more northwest wind swell than south swell today. Waited for the tide to fill in to cover the bars for some better form (yesterday afternoon looked real fun). Real zippy lefts, zero rights. Started at the pier where some of the waves were wedging real hard but it was a silly crowd with a contest zone atmosphere, so I drifted towards Emerald where there was a fat reform on the inside. Got one wave that doubled up and screamed for almost two block! |
| Newbreak | 06/19/99 9:00 am - 11:00 am |
2 - 3'+ Nice little crossed up swell hitting Newbs well. Uncrowded at first then progressively getting silly crowded. Real fun small waves. Even got a little shack. Felt real good to rip some of those super hittable sections. Couldn't take the crowd after about an hour and a half and went down to a slightly mushy and setty Abbs and caught a few decent ones and went in. Super glassy all morning. |
| Law St. | 06/17/99 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm |
2 - 3'+ Black ball in effect now so headed down to Law after debating what looked better - the pier or Law. Tough decision because it was one of those days were both were close to firing. New northwest wind swell mixed in with a small south making for extremely peaky conditions. Light wind and warm water making the super shreddable lefts that much more enjoyable. |
| The Parking Lot | 06/14/99 6:30 am - 8:00 am |
2 - 4' Clean northwest groundswell broken up by over lying wind swell. Super minus tide this morning making for the waves breaking over a newly formed sandbar way outside. Real fun and lined up with a quick peaky drop slowing down to reform on the inside. Not the best Lot but better than it has been in awhile around here. |
| Missouri St. | 06/13/99 8:30 am - 10:00 pm |
1 - 2' Small, unorganized and weak. Went out anyway. Very mushy but managed to get a few wacks on the close out sections. |
| Missouri St. | 06/08/99 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm |
2 - 4' Carbon copy of last night but a little more glassy. Caught a few really good lefts and a few slow carvable rights. |
| Missouri St. | 06/07/99 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm |
2 - 4' More mixed swell that has had the wind on it all for days making for junky conditions, but also somewhat peaky conditions. Predominately lefts and predominately mushy. Found some lefts that would stand up off the north end of the Capri again which is becoming my old standby. There must be a little reef out there that helps keep the sandbar in place because it has been there for weeks now. |
| Newbreak | 06/05/99 9:00 am - 11:00 am |
1 - 3' South swell has dropped as well as the wind swell. Still some little peaks coming through Newbs although a little weak. Watched some guys get softies on the outside so I patiently sat on the outside corner waiting for the south swell to push through. Was well rewarded with some 2 maybe 3 foot slappable walls. Small Cliffs is definitely better than big walled out beach break any day. |
| Missouri St. | 06/04/99 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm |
2 - 4' Extreme south swell that has pretty much passed San Diego by was mixed in with some junky northwest wind swell from the latest front. The mix was creating some meaty peaks out front. It was definitely a window of opportunity because the peaky surf disappeared about 40 minutes into the session and became walled out shit. Best waves were at the beginning of the session were I got a real nice lined up right. Water is so cold. |
| Missouri St. | 06/01/99 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm |
2 - 3' Small and inconsistent south swell is developing. Some 3 footers would wind in out of the extreme south every once in awhile and hit my sandbar at the north end of the Capri, but the conditions were cold and windy making for real sectiony waves. |
