Location Date/Time Conditions
Swami's 11/30/03
6:00 am - 10:30 am
2 - 4'+ New west swell from a storm spinning off the coast. Inconsistent but very clean lines. Perfect offshore conditions. Waves breaking off the peak all the way and some good ones from mid peak. Pretty damn rippable but extremely crowded. Stayed out forever to get the wave count up. Good.
OB Jetty 11/29/03
6:30 am - 10:00 am
1 - 2' Pretty frickin' small but a tiny south pulse had the jetty surfable on the medium tide. Had to be patient. Sets coming through every five to ten minutes. A little soft but rippable little walls. Tide rolled in and a bunch of long boarding kooks paddled effectively shutting it down. OK.
Black's 11/24/03
11:00 am - 1:00 pm
1 - 2' some+ Super small but super clean. A tiny pulse out of the south keeping it surfable with some pretty crackable little lefts and no crowd. Nice a nd glassy with the wind trying to come up around noon but never really a factor. Fun.
Scripps 11/23/03
6:30 am - 9:30 am
1 - 3' some+ A real mixed bag of a session. Wind swell way down from the day before. Super high tide at 8:00, a 7 footer. Looked pretty fun when I pulled up but the tide was pushing in quick really softening it up. A few soft lefts at first but the crowd started getting to silly proportions so paddled over to north side to surf by myself for awhile where there where a few decent lefts. Tide started shutting that down a bit so ended up paddling all the way back to south of the stairs were a decent looking left was shaping up. This turned out to be pretty fun as the tide turned with fun whackable lefts. OK.
Swami's 11/22/03
7:30 am - 10:00 am
3 - 6' some+ Big disorganized wind slop. Mostly soft and sectiony but there were a few gems to be had. Surfed the 6'6" for the first time since June and it felt pretty good. All my boards are from the same shaper and that seems to really help transitioning from different sizes. Anyhow, paddled around frantically the whole session trying to get in position. sometimes I was sometimes I wasn't. Did get a really good one in. OK.
Reed St. 11/21/03
7:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 2' some+ Some small junky wind swell on hand. Looked like there were a few peaks popping up but it was just an illusion. Mostly warbly close outs. Did get a few lined up little lefts when I first paddled out but those were few and far. Water really cold here numbing up my feet. Poor.
Swami's 11/19/03
6:00 am - 8:30 am
2 - 3' South swell on the way out while some leftover west swell was also limping on through. A bit soft and warbly but the low crowd factor had me on it. A few through the corner good for some roundies. OK.
Swami's 11/18/03
6:00 am - 8:30 am
2 - 4'+ South not showing nearly as strong as yesterday. A bit more mixed up with short period west swell crossing things up also. Still not too bad. If you had a little patience the corner was offering up some pretty smackable waves. Beautiful day with sunny weather and light offshores. Fun.
Swami's 11/17/03
6:00 am - 9:00 am
2 - 5'+ What a nice surprise this morning. What was looking to be a pretty slow and soft session slowly transformed itself into a beautiful south swell carve fest. Some smoking waves off the corner that were coming in sets of up to 20! Some were feathering walls in the light offshore while some were throwing up some tubes. A little inconsistent sometimes but when these sets started rolling through it was party time. What really made the session however, was that the crowd was really light. I was by myself at the times on the corner. Unbelievable. A very good session.
Swami's 11/13/03
6:00 am - 9:00 am
1 - 3' Left over wind swell and a bit of south running. A very light crowd. Waves on the inconsistent side but brushed with a stiff offshore the corners were popping up for a couple of good carves. Nothing stellar but with just three other guys out who going to complain? Fun.
Swami's 11/11/03
6:00 am - 9:00 am
2 - 3' some + West swell on the wind down while a new southern hemi pulse keeping things intersting. Nice and glassy but the crowd was a bit thick due to the holiday. Managed to get some great waves none the less. A few real rippable corners and even a nice cover up that got the crowd in the lot fired up. Fun.
Swami's 11/10/03
6:00 am - 9:00 am
3 - 4' some +New short period west swell. Conditions a wonderful sheet glass. Tide a bit too high but wasn't really too much of a factor. Swell a bit pulsy at first but approaching high it really turned on. Lots of rippable waves that were rolling past the outside peak and jacking on the deep inside part of the point. Some a bit soft but the majority fast and carvable. Light crowd making it a pretty enjoyable session. Really fun.
OB Jetty 11/07/03
7:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3'Combo of lingering southern hemi and west swell. Very inconsistent, but again, not enough heads out to really matter. Inside sandbar has been the call on these high tides. some rippable peaks pushing though with the very rare tube. Fun.
Newbreak 11/06/03
8:00 am - 11:00 am
2 - 3' some + New straight west ground swell from ET Parma. Super clean but very inconsistent with about 10-15 minute waits between sets. Went out after the 5.5' high tide had peaked and turned. Surprisingly, it was breaking on such a high tide. As the tide dropped it started getting a bit more lined up and steep but also kind of sucking the power out of it a bit. Caught lots of waves by myself until one by one the heads began to filter down. Beautiful day. Fun.
OB Jetty 11/05/03
7:00 am - 8:30 am
1 - 3' Small south pulse running but not showing at too many spots. Pretty much just sets rolling through inconsistently but only a few heads out so enough to go around. High tide inside sandbar in good form with the little waves lining up nicely for some big carves. Tide peaked and immediately turned around pretty much shutting it down. OK.
South Mission Jetty 11/02/03
7:00 am - 9:00 am
1 - 3' Small wind swell and a tiny bit of south. Pretty small but looked like there was some ridable surf at the beach breaks. Beaches lacking form so head to the jetties. After checking OB Jetty saw a bit more size on the other side of the channel. Head on over to South Mission and see some nice little wedgy peaks with just a few guys out. Some fun rippable little lefts. Tide started dropping out and it just got smaller and smaller until it became unridable and more people paddled out. Struggled to get one in. OK.
